Adjusting The Strobe Lights
Photography lighting is one of the most important aspects of photography that is actively discussed in every professional photography forum. The reason that photographers spend so much time discussing lighting is because it can make or mar the photograph.
A digital camera can compensate for many different lights, however photographers still need to learn how to adjust the lights manually as well as learn how to set up studio lights.
Among the lights, the strobe light is most commonly discussed at most digital photography workshops. This is because this light is easy to adjust and control. Photography lessons prepare photographers to control the power sent to the strobe light as well as to manipulate the character of the light. By diffusing the light from the strobe, photographers can make the strobe act as a larger light source.
In digital photography class, photographers will learn how to control the source the strobe light. Strobe light is created when a spark jumps through a tube of Xenon gas. It has a really short duration, about 1/1000th of a second, and sometimes as short as 1/50000th of a second.
The advantages of using strobe lighting as photography lighting are multifold. Photographers do not need to use a tripod to shoot people with strobes and photographers can create a lighting situation very similar to day light with strobe lights.
Photography lighting through strobe lights also provide a continuous spectrum. This means that the light does not drop anywhere to create black areas. This is of great advantage to photographers.
