Photography Articles Why Use Black And White In The Digital Age

Why should we still use black and white? Going through some photography articles the example of the controversial movie "Schindler's List" (1993) by Steven Spielberg pops out as it was presented in the screens in black and white color. The critics expressed their dissatisfaction, and one could think it is a waste denying the audience of more than 1 million colors reduced to nothing but grayscale monochromatic theme. The truth is it was released on purpose as black and white, to give way to a dramatic impact for the setting of 1945 Nazi occupation. Photography articles show that the essence of using black and white is important for outlining characters.

To start with your own black and white digital photography shots, you will not need extra effort other than shooting as is; and to take the shot in color you can switch the setting of the digital image in an editor, using array of choices, as photography articles instruct. By scanning old photographs from developed films one can convert them into digital images. To obtain a black and white photography out of it, one must set the scanner into grayscale.

If the digital camera is set into "evening shot" mode automatically the image is converted as monochromatic. Photography articles also mention that to convert it to black and white one can remove saturation. Digital cameras work perfectly with a computer as everything about the photography can be done in full control with some skills in manipulating the technical side of it. It could be quite expensive but worth the effort. In the latest photography articles it shown that technology is getting better and better, if one would choose conventional effects, as long as the 360-degree options to enhance possibilities are available, then black and white digital photography is very simple to produce.
