Successful marketing tips for your photography studio

The ability for a professional to increase success in photography is directly tied to the effectiveness of the marketing the individual uses. Through effective photography marketing your business will be able to grow and bring about a level of financial success you previously only dreamt about. This article will give you some basic tips to enhance your approach to photography studio marketing.

Obviously the most important aspect to marketing your photography studio is to increase the traffic through your door. Some ways to help bring success to your photography business is to establish a relationship with another company. Contact a local business and offer to exchange coupons. For example, your client receives coupons from a local convenience store, salon, spa, or wherever your typical prospect would shop. Clients of yours that already own their businesses are a great place to start with this marketing idea. Another idea to market your studio and to get people in the door is to offer a photography presentation or seminar for free. An in-house seminar gives potential customers the chance to visit your studio and see your work. Offer something timely to do with how to create great photographs with digital cameras or offer a slide show from some of your more exotic travels. It would also be a wise marketing move to invite the local newspaper.

Another potentially successful marketing tactic when people are in your studio is to create a photography display which can be as simple as displaying a few small portraits and offering some free information about your studio or more elaborate set ups with framed wall samples. You will attract a lot of attention with some great images and they will help you create a lot of business if you play your cards right. Have a great selection of images, be presentable yet never pushy, have a system for collecting names and addresses from those wanting more information by simply asking or offering a draw prize. After you have spent the time and energy to secure these potential leads it is imperative that you keep in touch with all those prospects. It could lead to the beginning of a potential long term and lucrative relationship.

When you do have loyal customers it is always wise to reward them if they bring any referrals to you. When a client brings in a prospective client, give them a gift of appreciation, such as a coupon for from your studio, frames, or a gift certificate. As an added incentive, give a small gift to the new client as well.

A final tip to help bring success to your photography studio is to leave your business cards everywhere you go. Any time you are at a site where tipping is appropriate, leave a fair amount along with your business card. It would also be a wise marketing move to drop cards off at sites your potential customers will be visiting. Places such as bridal shops, tuxedo rental stores, jewelry shops, etc. Make sure your card effectively markets what you and your photography studio are all about. If possible make sure the card is loaded with your best samples and print on both sides to maximize the space for your marketing message.
