Useful Lighting Tips

Do you like the photos you take? Are they sometimes shadowed, blurry or too lighted? Then you definitely need some lighting tips. Taking pictures is not all about perfect setting. Lighting tips are necessary, because the setting can be great, but the picture still resulting too dark. So, here are some lighting tips that can be very useful for you. What if you could use a basic lighting principle, which professional photographers make use of? And this is without spending money on expensive lighting equipment. It is an amazing principle that will improve the photos you take. It is all about the size of the light source relative to the subject.

To explain this better, it means that the bigger the light source is, the softer will be the shadows. And in reverse, the smaller the light source is, the harder will be the shadows. Now, let's see how you can use this principle in order to improve your photographs. The first thing you should do is to become aware of the lighting. You can move things around or you can go to different locations and observe the light and the shadows produced by it.

A good way of practicing this is photographing people and doing it with large light sources. Here are some examples of large light sources easy to use. For instance, an overcast sky, a window or bright light reflected against a white ceiling. These lighting tips can provide great effects. If you want hard shadows, you will use point sources of light, such as the sun. Some more lighting tips include experimenting with the direction of the light source. You can obtain interesting effects if you provide light from the sides, from the back or even from underneath.
