November email to members. In case you missed
it.
The Digital Dog Bowl bite-size newsletter.
The reason you are receiving this email is because you are a member
of No Bs Photo Success Inner Circle Forum.
We hope to send these out on a regular basis with updates, specials
and important news alerts all dedicated to helping your photography
business grow and prosper.
I know some of you do not want to hear from us in these bothersome
emails. The good news is you can turn off the "receive emails from
those annoying two pests" option, under the main heading in the
forum.
Look for "My Stuff", then go to "My Profile". Right
near the top it says:
From time to time we send out emails regarding this community. Do you
wish to receive these emails?
No Yes
Easy? Of course you will want to hear from us. All least read this
one before you make your final decision...
The bad news is, the forum is still a little glitchy with the recent
software update. But, there is light at the end, and things are coming
together. The Chat room is up- apparently you need to install Java on
your computer for it to work. The new forum software has many really
cool features, and we hope to bring even more stuff dedicated to the
success and profit of running a portrait studio. There will be many
really cool videos soon be announced, all available in the forum.

NEWS: The Inferno at the Falls, November 5-7, was a
huge success. We didn't stop the whole time. For those of you who made
it, you witnessed it first hand. We had a full house and a jam packed
agenda. Charles Van De Sluys showed up in his housecoat (see his studio
tour in the dangerous downloads and that will make sense!), and he arranged
to have the mayor of Niagara FALLS there to kick things off Monday morning.
Thanks Charles, first class all the way.
The feedback was very, very good, and the experience was beyond our
wildest dreams. There are a few comments posted later in this email.
We video taped the entire event, thanks to Bruce "MrPhenomenal"
for his hard work in that area. We will get around to editing all 20
or so hours and you can buy em our cost! More details to come very soon.
Jillian, and many others, liked the goal setting portion that I put
everyone through towards the end of my marketing presentation.
Here's an email she just sent me:
"ROb...really do believe that those goal sheets work wonders!!
Since I have been home from the inferno, I have booked three weddings
(and not my small packages!) and the next two weeks are quickly filling
up with photoshoots!!! I am so excited! I wish that the workshop was
in January! Cause I would be there without a second thought!! I guess
I'll have to wait til next winter!
Hope all is well!!
Jill"
I also mentioned "The Secret" DVD available at www.thesecret.tv.
Worth the entire $29. they are asking for it. There is a thread started
on this topic and some amazing stories in the forum within the Inferno
Thread.
Here's
a pic of the Inferno group shot.

What's up in the FORUM: School is never out! It appears
that some members aren't all that familiar with some of the best kept
secrets within the Inner Circle forum. The Dangerous Downloads is LOADED
with tons and tons of videos and audios. Don't forget, evevry month
I interview someone and put the audio in the forum. That way you can
listen to 'em while driving. University on wheels. I also get each interview
transcribed into a PDF file so you can print 'em out.
Look for the thread called "Monthly Interviews." AND, there
is a newer thread dedicated to "studio tours", (this is cool!)
where we've dropped in on members and "toured" their studios
on video. Check em out.
There is so much more. You should put that forum on your "Watched
List" so you get an automatic email whenever there is a new post.
As a matter of fact, you can watch any thread or members posts in this
area. Part of some of the cool new features of the new forum software.
Gallery Gems. Image Gallery moderator Mike Provencher
came up with an awesome idea. He's been scouring the images and hightlighting
the best of the best, and hopefully getting the maker to reveal how
they were created.
The No Bs Stalker, Dan Morency is looking for a wife.
He's handy, handsome, has an amazing studio, is what, forty-something,
bilingual, play hockey.., ok, enough. We teased on him the entire Inferno,
with my tongue-in-cheek "Win a Date with Dan" contest. Hey,
we're looking for our first No Bs wedding. First one gets a whole lotta
photos, assuming we're all invited (with cameras).
Actually, Dan has some cool Chat room interviews coming very soon.
Details are 'a coming.

Las Vegas 2007. We are headnig back to Sin City. We're
looking at doing a full day "showcase" where the day will
be just NO BS Members speaking and showcasing their strategies for marketing,
shooting, succeeding at wedding, families, senior, baby and whatever.
All things photography. Mark your calendars. TENTATIVELY it is Sunday,
March 4. Details will be forthcoming.

That's it for now. I have soooo much more to say, but
will save it for a few weeks from now when I send out another DogBowl
mini newsletter.
Here's an email that sums it up:
"Hi Rob,
Just wanted to drop you and Hodgy a quick email to let you both know
what a great time my husband had at "The Inferno at The Falls".
My husband's name is Brian, I believe he said you called him the motorcycle
guy! Anyway he got home about 11:30 last Wed. and he talked nonstop
until I finally had to ask him to stop around 1am since I am still a
working girl and had to get up early. By time I got home on Thursday,
it was the same thing: listen to this, look at this picture or website,
let's try this or do this. He is so pumped up about taking the next
step to make our business even more successful. He made a ton of great
contacts and came home with so much information that we are still trying
to sift through it. One the best things though was the print competition.
Brian always questions whether or not his work is good - even though
everyone tells him it is great! Then he placed third out of 100 prints
and being voted by his peers... that did more for his confidence level
than words can explain. I just wanted to say Thanks so much for helping
Brian see his own potential.
We are looking forward to meeting you guys again - maybe next time I
can come! JJJ
Dee Little"
thanks Dee. I know Brian can write, because he wrote this just before
heading out to the Inferno:
"Rob & Hodgy,
My name is Brian Little and I am a longtime member of your NOBS forum,
screen name "brian". I felt the need to e-mail you and let
you two know how you have helped change my life. Two and a half years
ago I had been in sales for over 8 years, selling John Deere tractors
mostly. I was suddenly let go from my job in a downsizing effort and
was forced to go work for another sales company and was no longer enjoying
my job with the new supervision (and pay decrease). Needless to say
it made me wonder what I wanted to do with my life. I had always had
a "more than a hobby-ish" love for photography and some friends
and family said I might have the eye for it - I however knew basically
nothing about the ins and outs of photography. I didn't know an f-stop
from an f-bomb. I needed help.
My wonderful wife bought me a book for Christmas on the basics of Photography
and encouraged me to learn more. Naturally I went to the web. I had
an idea of the style I liked and wanted to produce so I started looking
for inspiration and guidance. Low and behold I came accross the NOBS
site. What a revalation! It was exactly what I was looking for! The
style, the info, the sharing! I couldn't believe what you two were offering-it
was just what I was looking for.
Needless to say I bought the Big Kahuna even though money was tight.
I still didn't have an SLR or any lights but I knew I was on the right
track.
I sold my motorcross bike and motorcycle (that was tough) and bought
a 20D and a basic lighting kit. I started shooting any family member
that would pose for me. I was relentless. I changed jobs even though
the hours were worse so I could have more free time to work on photography.
It was all I could think about.
A year ago in August we opened for business. We wanted to start slowly-work
a few jobs as I continued to work full time 45-50 hours a week at another
job to support my family and my desire to operate my own business. I
was working close to 80 hours a week.
A little over a month ago I left the other full time job to dedicate
my time solely to my Photography business. As I write this I have had
shoots everyday 7-days a week for the past 4 weeks. My style is becoming
known in my area as very different-I have done over 50 seniors this
year averaging $600 per senior along with weddings and kids/families.
I am doing what I love and getting paid for it! It almost doesn't feel
right. Almost... :)
Anyway...I'm sorry this is so long, I just want you both to know the
whole story and that I owe an enormous chunk of my success to you two
and the great members of the NOBS forum. I hope all the members realize
that if this is what you love and you are always willing to learn-anything
is possible. Rob & Hodgy Thank you. You have literally changed my
life.
Thanks for making a difference.
Sincerely, Brian Little
B&D Photography
p.s. I will see you in Niagra on Sunday. Looking forward to learning
more.
-Brian"
