"In my mind, the 2006 Vegas crapshoot was by far the BEST learning experience I've had to date. Rob, James and Rob have an excellent outlook on photography that includes sharing their knowledge instead of hoarding it. Their fresh approach and their passion for what they do is contagious and inspiring."

"I learned so much during each of the topic discussions that it's impossible for me to pick a favorite or identify the most beneficial. Each offered the "how to" that will help me in my journey to be a successful photographer. Regardless of the skill level, there was something for everyone! Add in the fact that NoBS members could attend at no charge the value of the "Vegas Crapshoot" simply skyrockets!

The Mastercard commercial comes to mind – airfare: $$$, lodging, food and spending money: $$$$ the knowledge gained during the Vegas crapshoot: PRICELESS!!!

I've learned more and had more fun than I ever could have imagined! I’m thrilled with my results from implementing just a few of the things I learned while attending the crapshoot! ..and I’ve just begun to put this new knowledge into action.I cannot wait until the next one (please put my name on the list now - regardless of when it happens).

I can’t possibly thank the 3 of you enough!!!!"

"Being a rookie and trying to learn the skills of a good photographer I was lucky enough to sign up with No BS. I have seen the videos and tried the actions thinking how much I learned and that would probably be the extent of my learning through NO BS. That was until I attended the free seminar in Las Vegas this last week. I was feeling stagnant and was hoping that I would find something to charge me back up. When you first spoke and said that you were going to talk about basics and the common mistakes that Rookies make, that definitely charged me back up. I realized that I was making some of the mistakes that you spoke about and I have changed some of my techniques and my photographs are better. Thank you so much….
It was awesome how you shared with us your style of lighting and shooting. You made me realize that I should have been using a reflector when I work indoors. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing and caring about your members. You both are all about helping each person to become a better photographer. Your immediate response anytime I have emailed a question is fantastic.

We cannot put into adequate words what a refreshing experience the NoBs Vegas Crapshoot was. James and Rob, your seminar was absolutely what we needed. And the combination of Rob Hoffman, whoa! What a great experience to see two powerhouses at work! We have learned so much and can't wait to let it shine through in our photography style. Our membership to the NoBs forum has paid for itself ten fold with the free Vegas seminar offered to members! Plus we are feeling very fortunate to have met so many new friends, this is about as close to family as you can get! Thank you to all who made the Vegas Crapshoot 2006 possible and we will see you again next year!"

"I just got back from the NOBS Vegas Crapshoot and with out a doubt, it was the best seminar that I have attended in my 20 year career as a professional photographer. It was the perfect blend of programing, that included marketing, studio photography, outdoor photography, hands on shootouts, photoshop, and even course on how to be successful. There was also some killer parties to attend!

Here are a few things that I really enjoyed and made it such an interesting way to learn. Rob, Hodgy and Rob each shared how they would photograph a subject, so you learned three different techniques at once and got a chance to see how they compared to each other. They also shared different ways on marketing, dealing with clients and pricing information.

Lately, there is a disturbing trend with seminars that either you waste $99 to watch one giant info-mercial or the instructor only gives you part of the information and expects you to buy his dvd if you really want to know how it is done. Not the case at the Crapshoot. First off, it was FREE! A great benefit of being a member of the forum. Nothing was for sale, and the instructors shared everything. You could even talk with them after the class with follow up questions.

Not only were the instructors great, but so were the other No BS members. It was great to be able to talk with them before the programs started or while having lunch. Also, it was a blast to hit the Vegas night life with everyone, man that was fun!The noBS Crapshoot is the only thing in Vegas were everyone who goes will be a winner!
Hope to see you there next year,..."

"Thanks James and Rob for a GREAT time in Vegas! I had been planning on attending WPPI and was thrilled when you guys announced a free workshop for NoBs members right after WPPI. I figured since I was there, I might as well stick around. Boy, am I glad I did! I learned more in the day and a half with you guys then I did the entire week at WPPI. That’s not even mentioning the price difference!

I would have a hard time putting a price on the worth of all the great information I get daily from nobsphotosuccess.com. I can say, for a fact, it is worth well over the $19.95 a month I pay. Then you go out of your way and offer free seminars like this; it’s almost too good to be true!

You guys are a blast and the members of NoBs rock! Thanks again -- you can count me in next year!"

"The Vegas Crapshoot was one of the best photo seminars I've ever been to. I can't believe how much I learned in such a short time. I only wish it had been longer. Rob and James (and Rob H.) are amazing photographers. I can't wait for next year."

"I had the privelage to attend the Nobs Crapshoot Seminar in Las Vegas. It was held in conjuction with WPPI. Now I was not able to take a whole week off, so I came just for the Nobs Seminar. First of all, I was so excited that it was free. Free I said? Well, I thought what is it going to be like since it was free? Well, in a nutshell, I would have paid even more than the cost to be a member of this forum. I cannot believe all the discounts from vendors that I can get, all of the one-on-one help from other photographers. I have also added a second photographer that is from this forum for my weddings, until she gets here wedding business off the ground. Don't forget all the friends I have made and last but not least, a FREE seminar. That right there pays for my complete membership to this forum. I know and I think you know also how much seminars cost and to provide this one for free is amazing.

So a little about the seminar. It was great for a 2 day seminar. The first day, you guys covered a little of everything, from lighting to posing to marketing to pricing, if it is part of the business, you covered it. It was also great to have 3 different speakers. That shows that it is not about just 1 person and people coming to copy that person. But instead it is about the business and allowing us to take what we wish from whomever and apply it to our business. The second day was a blast as well, as we went onto the streets of Vegas to do a bridal and model shoot. The best thing was, that you allowed all of us to create our own portraits. We were not there just to watch, but to shoot as well. You even allowed us to do our own posing with the models, very much hands on. When not in the seminar it was a blast just to hang out with everyone, what a great group of people.

All in all, thank you James, Rob P. and Rob H. for putting on such a great seminar, for FREE, and helping myself and others along in our businesses. Again, what a bargain by being a member of this great forum, a FREE seminar and tons of other things that we get at this forum as well. When I posted some images in the "Then and Now" thread, you can truly see that it has been Nobs that has changed my photography and has helped to grow in this business. Without this place, I may not be where I am at today.

Thanks, James McFarland
