Workflow Stage 3Basic Image WorkflowThe next thing we do is adjust the contrast of the image. There are several ways todo this, and some work better than others. There are 4 popular ways to achieve contrast control. 1. Auto Contrast - IMAGE/ADJUST/AUTO CONTRAST This is a quick and dirty way which doesn't give you any control. 2. Brightness/Contrast-IMAGE/ADJUST BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST This allows you to adjust the brightness and contrast of the image seperately (considered a crude method) 3. Levels - Image/Adjust Levels You can increase the contrast by bringing the highlight and shadow sliders closer together.
4. Curves - Image/Adjustments/Curves You can increase contrast in the curves
by using an S-Curve (one of my favorites). Varying degrees of the curve
will will increase the amount of contrast. We will use this method for
our image. Back to Photoshop Tutorials main page
