Workflow Stage 3Basic Image WorkflowWhat about cropping? What about sharpening? What, what, what, what WHAT?!!!! If you were to crop and sharpen the image before you saved it, what would happen? You would end up with a fully retouched sayyyyy 5x7. Now what do you do if you need an 11x14 of this file? You would have to start all over. That's why we archive and work off the source file, applying cropping, sharpening, and final touches only at the printing stage. This way you can have any size print you wish anytime. All you have to do is crop, and apply your finishing touches. Doesn't that sound a lot easier than finishing and archiving all the different sizes your client ordered? It would cost you time and $$ that should be better spent on mini-putt and malt liquor. Img_2746source.tiff
Next steps would be to crop, sharpen add noise (YA, ADD NOISE!) yada yada! and save those as individual files. Never, ever overwrite you source file with a cropped image.
