Workflow Stage 3

Basic Image Workflow

Cropping

Ok, let's crop the image to a specified size and finish the image for printing. For your pleasure we will assume our imaginary client needs a 5x7.

Now the dpi, ppi, afi, infi, blah blah...resolution for each image is determined by your output needs. These factors include your lab, your printer, or if it will be uploaded for webviewing.

We have found that 200dpi on the Lambda printer (the big honking super laser powered digital printer our lab uses and generously lets us print off of if we pay our monthly bill religiously and on time..)

Now 200dpi works exceptionally well in spite of the fact that everyone will tell you and scream at the top of their lungs, and rant and rave as they swear on their lives that you need 300 dpi. This is not true. 200dpi saves you time, storage, and gives you flexibility for making large prints which we will talk about in a later section.

But you don't need to listen to us, we already have your money and everything we say in this book we just made up on the spot! BAHAHAHAHAHAH............. Just Kiddin, WE LOVE YOU!...........................
