Dodging & Burning
Make sure your foreground/background colors are set
to default [press D]. Bring the opacity of the top
layer down to 50% and select the paintbrush tool
.
Bring the paintbrush opacity down to 50% and start to ¡°paint in¡± where you wish to darken. Or switch the default colors and you will begin to lighten.
This method does not damage the pixels, resulting in a cleaner burn or dodge.
