Monitor Calibration

The second method and preferred, is a monitor spyder calibration system. This is by far the best way to achieve maximum results from your work-flow. A spyder reads the phosphors in your monitor and adjusts it with great precision and accuracy. A must have for any serious photographer.

You simply load the spyder software onto your hard drive and follow the instructions. This usually consists of sticking the spyder onto your monitor and having the spyder software read your values.

The spyder will give you target which usually consists of a bar graph. The software will give a target value to reach with the RGB and your brightness/contrast and you can use your monitors OSD (On Screen Display) to adjust each of them. When the target is reached, the software will create a custom profile and save it to a specified folder.

It is recommended to get a monitor that allows you to adjust the RGB values in the OSD!
