Workflow Stage 3
Basic Image Workflow
THE FINAL 2 STEPS!
Here they are…..sharpening and adding noise.
There are a few ways one could sharpen an image, and some would have you believe it is the holy grail. Ok, it is the holy grail. Well, cmon, what are you thnking? If your image isn’t sharp what is it? Blurry? Out of focus? No! It’s…… NOT SHARP! Nothing like spending a couple of Gs to get unsharp images. Not a good thing. Anyways (my small vent) here’s how we sharpen. FILTER/SHARPEN!
No just kidding. You can do that, but it would just be wrong! So don’t do it. Use the Filter/Unsharp- mask. (NO, IT WILL NOT UNSHARPEN YOUR IMAGE). Don’t ask us why they call it that, it has to do with a case of 24 and long night at the Adobe office. Actually, it stems from the days of old, when they used to create a separate negative, slightly blurred, sandwiched with the original negative, and somehow this unsharp mask, as they called it, would mysteriously create the illusion of a more sharpened final image. I guess the guys at Adobe were sentimental about it.
Now I know what your asking yourself, WHAT IS A NEGATVE? IS THAT FILM?…………….?
