Workflow Stage 3
Basic Image Workflow
Retouching
Now we get into basic retouching. I call this basic because its
basically the same retouching over & over from image to image. This
involves removing blemishes, softening skin, lightening bags under the
eyes etc......
With the versions of Photoshop 7 and CS
there are now several tools that we can use for retouching. They are the
CLONE STAMP, HEALING BRUSH, and the PATCH TOOL. Each tool works well,
but I prefer to use the clone stamp with the lighten/darken blend modes,
and this is all we use in our studio, day in, day out. Why re -invent
the wheel? These tools and techniques work best because they work with
and maintain the integrity of the native pixels, therefor keeping a more
pleasing and benuine texture with skin tones.
Using the clone stamp is very easy, you
simply place the stamp over an area you wish to clone from and left click
the mouse button while holding the ALT key down. This selects the are
you are cloning from. Then place the stamp over the are you wish to clone
out and start clicking.
