B&W, Sepia, & Color Toning
Method 4 - B&W Using A Gradient This technique is by far the best one we have seen.
It allows you to control all aspects of B&W (Tone, Contrast...)
First, set your background/foreground colors to default. (just press D)
Next, add an adjustment layer with a Gradient Map.

By clicking once on the gradient, you access the the gradient properties. Here you can use the sliders to increase/decrease contrast, and manipulate the tones.
